(front and back cover of their first album)
Don't mess with a Bolt Thrower..
Bolt Thrower are one my favourite bands; but there're others I think are even greater, like Sadus, Nocturnus, Anacrusis.. (look at my album list
sorted by ratings)
So, you may ask, why this particular dedication?
I've interpreted their name, as you can read also in
the FAQ, as "archer", or "thrower of bolts";
you can compare an arrow to a strong will, and the throwing of this arrow to the reaching of an objective (read some quotations about arrows in Nietsche's
Zarathustra here to better understand what I mean): my will is like an arrow, and I'm the archer;
another reason for my particular interest is for their never-changing style; this is very reassuring and creates a sort of psychological shell protecting from the reality; as
says Evan Howell, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This panzer could run forever as far as I'm concerned..";
nevertheless, I seldom listen to their albums because they are too much meaningful for me; they're reserved for important cases, when I'm
very enraged, excited, relaxed, attuned, depressed..
